Really outstanding museum! Many of these aircraft and artifacts that you will not see elsewhere. Remarkable how they have connected so many items to the aerospace history and industry of the area.

Once a month they have an open cockpit day. Go on that day. Fun for the kids, and the museum volunteers (many of which are former military) can tell you a lot about the planes.

If you're tagging along with someone and you're not really into aviation, you can still read the exhibit info for historical context. But I'd suggest fellow non-enthusiasts go on big event days.

An aviator’s trip to Connecticut wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the New England Air Museum. 75,000 sq feet of exhibit space includes aircraft & engine display. Yup, there's a PT6 too!
