We had to go here just to pay our respects to the 1000s that needlessly lost their lives at this spot. What a strange atmosphere there is here, whilst the rebuild marches on, there you are in the thick of it, a surreal moment. To see the Survivor Tree and stroke its gnarled scarred boughs was special. The only thing I did not understand were all the tourists posing for selfies with massive smiles on their faces, I guess we are all different.
